GKD metal mesh at the ski jumping facility in Oslo, Norway

The metal mesh combines design and functionality at the ski jump in Holmenkollen.

Within the scope of the modernization, the architects from JDS selected Sambesi light and PC Sambesi stainless steel meshes for their design. Following testing in a wind tunnel, a total of 7,300 m² of architectural mesh was fitted to the steel structure of the ski jump.

The GKD meshes used convert the wind into a laminar airflow and thereby protect the jumpers from being caught out by gusts. The stainless steel meshes also impress with their weather resistance, robustness and virtually unlimited service life.
